The Dolphin
The Dolphin is a special, Grade II listed cottage steeped in history, charm, and character. Located on Dolphin Street in the heart of Port Isaac’s historic fishing village, this traditional Cornish retreat is just steps from the seafront and the area's renowned pubs and restaurants.
Inside, the cottage features slate steps worn by time, sloping floors, wood panelling, and low beams that create a magical atmosphere. While the exterior is modest, the interior is surprisingly spacious and cozy, offering four bedrooms, a sitting room, a snug/playroom, a dining room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a shower room, and a small courtyard garden.
The Dolphin has a fascinating history dating back to the 1790s, when it was built as an Inn by Elizabeth Stribley. It served as The Dolphin Inn until the First World War; the current dining room was once the main public bar, the ground floor bedroom served as the games room, and the kitchen was used to store barrels of ale. After the war, it transitioned into a private home before becoming a holiday residence in 1971.
Ideally situated for food enthusiasts, the cottage is only a few minutes' walk from Nathan Outlaw’s Michelin-starred Fish Kitchen, as well as a variety of local cafes and boutiques along the North Cornwall coast.
